  • There'll be less chance of my baby being born underdeveloped or poorly,
  • I'll be free of feeling guilty,
  • I'll have a healthier, happier pregnancy,
  • I'll have more money to spend on baby things,
  • I'll have more energy
  • Everybody will stop nagging me- and staring at me,
  • I'll be free!

Cons

  • I don't know how I'll cope with stressful times,
  • I'll feel left out with everyone around me smoking,
  • I don't know how I'll cope with cravings,
  • I've tried so many times before and gone back to smoking,
  • It's my body! I'm sick of other people telling me what to do,
  • I'm worried I'll put on loads of weight,
  • I enjoy smoking!

Where does that leave you now?

  • On a scale of 1-10, how important is it for you to stop?
  • Why's it important?
  • On a scale of 1-10, how confident do you feel about stopping?
  • What makes you feel confident?
  • Are your scores high enough for you to give it a go?
  • What would make them higher?

Are you…..

  • Not ready?
  • …not sure?
  • …thinking about stopping?
  • …up for giving stopping a go?

What's available to help me quit?

Nicotine Replacement Therapy - Many health professionals believe that NRT is a much safer option for a growing baby than the 4,000 chemicals they are exposed to if you smoke. The nicotine in NRT is thought of as 'clean' nicotine and is present in smaller doses than the amount taken in when smoking. Using NRT makes the chance of a successful quit attempt higher.
