The Manchester Stop Smoking Service is a free NHS service, dedicated to providing the residents and workers of Manchester with non-judgmental advice and support to help them give up smoking. The service provides free stop smoking clinics in a variety of venues around the city that offer one-to-one and/or group support for smokers and their family members who have decided to make a quit attempt. Information and support is also available for those people simply thinking about giving up smoking.

The sessions include information on:

  • Understanding your own smoking behaviour.
  • Deciding upon treatments to help, including nicotine replacement therapies, Zyban and other alternative therapies.
  • How to deal with the difficult times, including stress and putting on weight.
  • Carbon monoxide readings.

We have specialist services that work directly with young people, pregnant women and South Asian Communities. We also have information on other health care workers that run stop smoking sessions in your local area e.g. GP clinics, Sure Starts and pharmacies.

If you live or work in Manchester and would like to know more, or you feel ready to book an appointment with a trained advisor, ring us on: 0161 205 5998.
